Welcome to the Human Experience

Welcome to your life, there is no turning back, even while you sleep, we will find you.... That is a Tears For Fears band song that I love from the 80s. Maybe they were singing about lust for power, control during the cold war between USSR and US but I always love that line starts, "Welcome to Your Life".

And I want to take this opportunity to Welcome to Your Life. We are sharing a unique experience together that no other species on this planet (and maybe in the universe) shares, which is the Human Experience. So what is the human experience? It is what I like to call the ability to be aware of other humans and communicate with them over time. This ability to communicate is amazing and it allows us to talk to each other and understand each other. Is that not amazing? We have the ability to communicate with each other our experiences and these experiences do not have to be limited to that time or in the area that we live but we can communicate these experiences now all over the globe and years into the future. We can read, listen and now see these experiences from our past and make them available to future generations. So the human experience after 21st century is different than our experience until then because of technology and the ability for technology to become so ubiquitous. The word ubiquitous means that it is found everywhere and we can leverage it to talk about experiences with each other now and in the future. Technology allows us to write to someone right in front of us but read by someone who has yet to be born, that is amazing and powerful.

Welcome to your life!!! We are lucky to share this unique experience and it is very precious and I think more precious than anything on this planet and dare I say universe? Take a moment or two or three to recognize this life is amazing and precious especially as it will not last forever. Life on this planet is rare and amazing but humans are unique and we need to acknowledge this fact. I am not saying we are superior in strength or natural abilities but we have an ability to develop technologies that can set us apart from all other beings on this planet. Now how we use these abilities is a different question but we have created technologies that are simply awesome.

So Welcome and let us start the discussion here and everywhere. Let us share the human experience together. I plan to use this space to share my experiences and thoughts on various topics. I hope you enjoy them (or not) and I want to thank you for spending your time read my thoughts.
